Charles Street // Berkhamsted
The main aspect of this project was to re-order a series of disconnected rooms on the ground floor to create a better connected, open-plan kitchen and family area. To the rear, a full width bi-fold window opens fully towards the garden and to the side a new bi-fold door opens onto a redesigned raised patio which sits above the garden. A small new extension was provided to create a utility room with a fully glazed roof to maintain natural light to the internal play room. The project also involved a loft conversion with large rear dormer and street facing roof lights which had to be designed sensitively for the Berkhamsted Conservation Area setting.
